Today, on Holocaust Remembrance Day, we solemnly remember the events that started to take place almost 75 years. Today, we stand with the Jewish people, as well as all people who've experienced such horrific persecution across the world. It's our generation's job to make sure that #NeverAgain is a promise we keep.

As part of the Executive Boards' new social media/outreach program, we're going to feature at least one column/editorial that gets printed in an Indiana college/university student newspaper every week. We're excited to showcase the talents of Democrat writers in Indiana schools! The Indiana Daily Student, the student newspaper for Indiana University Bloomington, recently ran a staff editorial about how the Republican Lt. Governor of South Carolina is a proud supporter of the Confederate flag. -- "Republican Lt. Gov. Glenn McConnell has championed the use of Confederate flags, particularly the well-known battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. McConnell and others have defended the flag variously as a connection to their ancestors and a valuable symbol of a struggle for autonomy. They claim the flag doesn’t represent hate, but heritage. The Editorial Board thinks otherwise. They are wrong. And their ideas belong nowhere near institutions of education." -- Here in Indiana, we don't support anyone, especially a Lt. Governor, who wears/flies the Confederate flag. That's just Hoosier Common Sense. Check out the entire editorial here. (Illustration by Griffin Leeds) H.B. 1143 would have banned regulators in Indiana from enforcing any regulations higher than those set by the federal government. It would only promote dirty energy and make Indiana a less healthy place to live. And yet the GOP keeps proposing it.
This Earth Day, work to save the environment. Vote the GOP out. |
